Kate McMillan has completed her residency in Leonora, during which she held workshops in the Alternative Detention Centre and with local young people, and created a pilot art project opportunity for local Indigenous Communities with support from BHP and Artsource. All is going splendidly in Leonora. Try to find money to start up art projects for the Aboriginal community with the various employment agencies pitching in Laverton and Leonora. Ron Bradley from artsource is keen to assist in Leonora. MEEDAC (Aboriginal Health people) may be able to link this in with a cultural and community development training project. Leonora from the air
When I flew over the landscape around Leonora for the first time I felt an immediate connection to the redness of the dirt, the recently greened bush and the clean blue sky.
